iMedia Connection: Proving ROI Made Simple

June 11th, 2007

Excellent points throughout this article. I would like to quote a great deal more, but I would be way beyond fair use on it. If you are hiring folks to provide you with web marketing or any kind of marketing services, then this piece will arm you well for proving the value.

When you’re looking at website operations or online marketing technology solutions, you’re probably already challenging yourself with these types of questions:

  • What are the strategic business challenges we are looking to solve with this technology solution?
  • What will success look like? Should we save 20 percent with this solution? Should we increase revenue by 10 percent? Or, should our cost per lead go down by a third?
  • How much will this particular solution contribute to that particular metric?

Then, if your vendor uses an ROI pitch to sell you the technology solution, challenge them with these questions:

  • How does your solution help us deliver against these specific business objectives?
  • What are you willing to do to help us achieve these business objectives?
  • Can we depend on you to deliver this ROI and help us with the ongoing improvements to either deliver against it or to continually improve on it?

Moving to Word Press – Previous Version Still Available

June 2nd, 2007

I am moving from Drupal to Word Press. For now I am going to link to the previous version of my web marketing blog and hope Google spiders it properly. More to come on why the move, but while I still love all the power that Drupal gives me, it just made things far too complicated. There was just too much there. I will still need Drupal for community and social networking projects, but for our basic company site and blog, this should be ample. I am finding Word Press to be elegant, easy, and simple to utilize and that is the bottom line. In addition, I want to relaunch the corporate components to ClickBrain. The market is HOT for SEM right now!

Testing Windows Live Writer on ClickBrain.com and Drupal.

April 27th, 2007

Update: Moved from Drupal to WordPress and FireScribe to Windows Live Writer, so more to write about.

Testing Windows Live Writer on ClickBrain.com and Drupal. and now on WordPress. Just feels like everything is easier via WordPress. Windows Live Writer is a nice tool, but it is buggy. Needs some additional fixing and plugins are still rough, but I like using the tool.

I will continue to report on this as I use it.

Really like the image handling of the tool and it’s ability to handle every aspect of posts, while being able to manage too.
